The Foundation Board Member Eligibility Criteria:

We are a new organization and this is a true working Board.  Board members of the The Foundation should have the following characteristics:

• Passionate commitment to the best public education for all students of the Las Virgenes Unified School District

• Ability to multi-task and participate in multiple initiatives at once

• Willingness to put in the time required by a working board; e.g. Board meetings, involvement in at least one committee, additional assignments as needed, assist with fundraising solicitation

• Broad base of contacts in one or more sectors of the community; i.e. banking, real estate, major businesses, education, finance, entertainment, etc.

• Willing and able to articulate the mission of The Foundation.

Sub-Committee Member Eligibility Criteria:

Participating in a Sub-Committee allows you to focus on just one area of interest.  It is a great way to get involved with the Board without committing to the time and other responsibilities. Sub-Committee members of The Foundation should have the following characteristics:

• Passionate commitment to the best public education for all students of the Las Virgenes Unified School District

• Willingness to support the Committee chair in all areas

• A foundational level of expertise in that committee’s particular area

• Assertive, highly motivated and self-confident

• Willing and able to articulate the mission of The Foundation

The Foundation School Representative Eligibility Criteria:

In order to enhance our partnerships with each LVUSD school, we are looking for passionate, high-performing individuals to become The Foundation School Representatives.  Each School Site Representative will have the following characteristics:

• Passionate commitment to the best public education for all students of the Las Virgenes Unified School District

• Active, involved school community member

• Desire to increase communication and raise visibility between the school site and The Foundation

• Collaborate with their school to identify how its unique character and resources can partner with The Foundation in all areas – marketing, fundraising, communications, etc.

• Willingness to meet at least four times per year and provide advice on individual school site funding concerns
